my performance activities this week

Tuesday 25: The Baitong Ukulele Circle, 7.30 – 9 pm. It’s growing! Check out our humble Facebook page. A chance for uke players of all levels, from beginner to over-achiever, to come and share, learn, show off, whatever… over a civilised drink or two. Bring a uke if you have one, bring two if you have two! For those of you who have none, there is at least one spare…… Baitong, #7, St 360. Wednesday 26: a rare performance by Expresso Thmei, a duo featuring Srey Chantthy from the Cambodian Space Project and myself on acoustic guitar. If you have not had the chance to hear Chantthy’s voice without the full band, you are missing out. Equinox, St 278, from 9 pm. Thursday 27: I return to Bywater @ Baitong after Joe Wrigley’s successful guest hosting last week. Lovely spot for singers, so it’s always kind of an open mic. Baitong, #7, St 360, 7.30 – 10.30 pm. For more information: https://www.facebook.com/events/486785064710724/?ref=14

Friday 28: Solo at Le Jardin for the Sunset Sandpit Sessions, along with Joe Wrigley and Robert Pickering. From 6 – 9 pm. For more information: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SunsetSandpitSessionsAtLeJardin/

Saturday 29: Moi Tiet! make their Equinox debut (St 278). From 9.00 pm. 100% original material, because 99 and a half won’t do. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll dance, you’ll get tunes stuck in your head for days. For more information: https://www.facebook.com/moitietband

Sunday 30: Sunday Sundowner Sessions from 4 7 pm at Rubies, cnr 19 & 240 Sts. Scoddy and a cast of thousands. For more information: https://www.facebook.com/events/420381704725335/?ref=14.

Sunday 30: Afterwards I host the last (sniff) jam session at Opera Cafe, which is unfortunately closing its music sessions down due to neighbour complaints. Such a shame, it’s been a lovely venue. Opera Cafe, St 13 near the National Museum. 8 pm until the police come.

all these and much, much more around town this week can be searched through the voluminous weekly musjc listings at http://lengpleng.com. And then check and sign up at http://kumnooh.com for the arts scene in Cambodia.
